Microsoft's Explanation of MVPs
- Microsoft's Most Valuable Professional (MVP) program recognizes Microsoft customers who voluntarily assist other customers in peer-to-peer online support groups, such as the Microsoft Newsgroups. MVPs come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, yet they all share one key attribute: a willingness to give time, expertise, and advice to enhance other users' technical skills.

2006 Microsoft Regional Summit
Each year, Microsoft invites all the MVPs out to Redmond (Seattle) to Microsoft Headquarters for an annual Summit. But in recent years, they have also started holding regional summit through world, so those who can't make it to MS HQ can still get a chance to meet and interact with their MS leads and leaders. The Midwest Regional Summit is held in Chicago each spring.
