Punish the DEED, not the breed

Fight Breed Discrimination Laws!

Read THE TRUTH about this noble dog and how CRIMINALS make them dangerous!

Memorials

These wonderful pals have now crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

After all the laughter, love and friendship they unconditionally added to our lives...we know they will never be forgotten...

  • Odie
    [Memorial]
Odie was a scared, shy dog who had obviously been abused when Stacy/Mark adopted him. But soon he warmed to their love and became the clown who added lots of laughter into their lives. Sadly, he was taken by a sudden illness...much too soon!

  • Jack
    [Memorial]
Jack was a sweet little gentleman Eskie who brought joy not only to Stacy and Mark, but to all who met him. Cancer took him in Sept, 2006.

  • Tux
    [Memorial]
Tux was Patty & Dean's first beautiful Sheltie, who lost his battle with Cancer at age 11.

  • Basil and Tarragon Phillips
    [Memorial]
Caroline says a sad farewell to Tarry, her beloved Tabby Cat...and now also to Tarry's lifelong pal, Basil.

  • Nala Chapman!
    [Memorial]
Our litte "Nala Bear" Chapman has sadly gone to be with her puppyhood friends,
    Kiko and Sheba!

  • Starla Chapman!
    [Memorial]
Stacy Chesney's sweet kitty, who brought us love and laughs, suddenly left us!

  • Wyatt!
    [Memorial]
Rescued German Shepherd, who got to experience love, before he was stuck down by illness.

  • Kiko Chapman!
    [Memorial]
German Shepherd and Dian's wonderful pal and guardian.

  • Sheba Chapman!
    [Memorial]
Mixed Sheltie and Stacy's childhood best buddy.

  • Valinka & Vanessa Desbourse!
    [Memorial]
    Barzio & Persian.

Bark in the Park Pet Charity Walk

Bark in the Park, Chicago, May 5, 2007!
Lexi did it! This reactive dog, who go nuts when she sees other dogs in the park...was overwhelmed at Bark in the Park 2007. And thanks to my trust in Cesar Millan's (The Dog Whisperer) "people training," I believed she would walk with the "pack" without issue...and she did! But more important...we raised over $2,800 to help dogs and cats! See our pictures from Bark 2007, HERE.

Bark in the Park, Chicago, May 6, 2006!
See our pictures from this year's walk...thanks to all who sponsored us! This year, we raise over $1,600, between Stacy and Dian with Shelby and Cassy. Click HERE to view our Bark 2006 photos.

Bark in the Park, Chicago, May 7, 2005!
Thanks to everyone who sponsored Shelby and me to help homeless dogs and cats find good homes. We raised $625 for Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago. See all the cool doggies in our Bark 2005 pictures HERE.

Dogs in our Lives!

"We aren't house proud. If we were, we wouldn't abide the scratches on the door frame, the holes in the screen, the darkened shine of worn spots on the chair. We would wince at the mottled carpet and fret at the hair clinging to our clothes.

"We don't. If anything, we lovers of dogs, are a tolerant lot, finding greater value in the unabashed affection of our friends than in immaculate sofas. Shoes can be replaced, but heroic retrievers are timeless.

"Without dogs, our houses are cold receptacles for things. Dogs make a fire warmer with their curled presence. They wake us, greet us, protect us, and ultimately carve a place in our hearts and our history. On reflection, our lives are often referenced in parts defined by the all-too-short lives of our dogs."

-- Just how dangerous are pit bulls?

The American Temperament Testing Society evaluated 122 dog breeds and found that the American Staffordshire Terrier, a type of pit bull banned in Denver, passed 83.3 percent of the time, just behind the golden retriever (83.6 percent).

The American Canine Foundation calculated rates of human dog-bite fatalities by breed and found that pit bulls bite at a lower rate than many other dogs. The Doberman pinscher was found to bite 10 times as often as a pit bull.
