In loving memory of Basil! ...and...In loving memory of Tarry!

Update—April, 2005

Very sadly, Caroline just passed me an update to let me know that now Basil has cross the rainbow bridge and has passed on.

Basil was at least 16 in "people years" so she lived a long and wonderful life, as did her "sister", Tarry. (They were not litter mates but were raised together from a very young age.)

As Caroline explains...here's a shot of my "Glamour Puss," taken a couple of weeks before she passed away. As you can see, sometimes it gets cold here in North Carolina, too, and Basil always enjoyed lolling around in front of the fireplace!

She and Tarry didn't go outside much, but while Tarry would occasionally return with assorted flora attached to her fur and dirty feet sometimes, Basil was most particular about her "toilette", and would groom and groom if any foreign matter touched her. She was especially proud of keeping her perfectly white paws nice and clean.

This was Caroline's original post.

Caroline Phillips, from Greensboro, NC, shares this favorite photo of her two best pals...Basil (gray and white), and Tarragon (orange tabby)

Very sadly, Tarry crossed over the Rainbow Bridge on August 5, 2004.

Basil and Caroline miss Tarry, terribly.

"We miss you, Tarry, but Basil and I keep you in our hearts and will always love you!"

You were both wonderful companions and you'll both be missed very much!
