In Loving Memory of...
Matthew M. Martinek

Born: December 7, 1988...At Rest: September 11, 2009

War is an ugly thing,
but not the ugliest of things.
The decayed and degraded state of
moral and patriotic feeling
which thinks that nothing
is worth war is much worse.

The person who has nothing
for which he is willing to fight,
nothing which is more important
than his own personal safety,
is a miserable creature
and has no chance of being free
unless made and kept so by the
exertions of better men than himself.

~ John Steward Mill

(I couldn't help but notice the fact that this soldier was born and died...on the two most infamous dates in America's history...December 7th and September 11th.)

Sincere condolences to the family and friends of Matthew Martinek. May time bring you peace as you remember all that Matthew brought into your lives. America thanks PFC Martinek for his service to our country!
